The mean Lunker guy thread got me to thinking......
My typical routine is to head out to Rayburn on Friday about 2 PM and depending on what chores need to be done am usually on the water by about 5/5:30. Again depending on what needs to be done will dictate how much time spent out on Sat and Sun. I haven't had to put a charger on my starting battery since y last one went out about 2 1/2 years ago.
My question is, do you guys that fish regularly need to charge up after each outing or are you good to go every time you put in?
I thought I read that the Lunker guy fished 3 times a week and wound up with a dead battery, unless he had a trashed battery to begin with.

I got to be honest. I have to charge my starting battery every time. To many big toys on the deck.

I only charge my cranking battery once every few months. I'm on the water 3+ days a week.

I'm starting to see a trend here......I also use a 3 bank...well sort of.
Keep it coming guys, I have inquired about this before but not on the forum. There is actually a method behind my madness.

My 2 trolling batteries and my cranking battery all get charged from my 2 bank onboard charger w/trollbridge combiner when home, it also charges all 3 from the outboard alternator....it is also possible to set it up to charge all 3 from the tow vehicle but I have never needed to do that.

Since I have a three bank charger mine gets charged after every trip. Same here. Same here. Four bank. Every time the boat gets parked, it is plugged in. Constantly. Until the next time the hitch goes "clank"!

Four bank and I always charge between trips. No excuse for me not to charge, and I don't really want to test it out.

I tell you what. I'm going to make a post saying LunkersTV owes me a new cranking battery because his tips video said I don't have to charge cranking batteries only my trolling batteries and now the cranking battery is dead and bad. (Sarcasm)

Charge every time, livewells also pull from the cranking battery, three bank charger only way to go,in the Texas heat battery life can be shortened by not changing after use.

when my boat is at home, my 4 bank charger is plugged in, and after I get everything charged, I turn on the timer, and it gets a 3 hour maint charge twice per day.
