I have a 1998 18ft skeeter bass boat with the original trolling motor. Its starting to have some issues so I was looking to replace it. What would a good size be? its going to be a 24 volt motor. Is it worth the extra money for the i-piolt? what brand would you recommend. thank you in advance for your response.

IMO yes ipilot is worth every penny. Most who get it love it but some just can't get used to the electric steer. I'd find someone with it and try it first before buying. It takes a little while to get used to it

yes, Ipilot or Xi5, most posts say spot lock on Xi5 is better than the Ipilot. I wouldn't go less than 80 lb on 18' boat if you fish in the wind much....

Definitely you want the 80# thrust. I always recommend a unit with spot lock, it makes fishing much more fun!

I have a MG Xi5 80lb on a 18' bass boat and love it. If you want to jump on my boat some time to check it out, just pm me.
