Does OH Ivie fish like a rocky deep water lake this time of the year?
Points and deep?
I am thinking of heading there this next weekend for a day or two, then Amistad for a couple days and then Falcon for a few days.
Amistad and Falcon I pretty much know what to do. Ivie since I have not been there, I a, thinking of just fishing deep points if there are any. But I honestly don't know the lay of the lake at all.
Will start studying map tonight.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

Yes points And humps. More brush than rocks I would stay on the main lake, off the river chanel, some good creeks and a couple of road beds.

Im not sure i could look at a map and tell much at all with the lake level, maybe you're better at reading maps than i am .... Alot of fish from elm to the dam and back to turkey bend. I would venture any further than that.

I fish the humps right on the river channel. These are man made humps that are long and narrow on the lip. River trees are thick there. The farmers use to get together back in the old days and dredge the channel with teams of Mules and pond scoop. They piled the mud and dirt on the river bank at the top. This kept the river open so farm land wouldn't flood so bad. These humps are always before and after a bend in the river. There are several from this side of Concho point where the river trees begin to get tall out of the water all the way around the point to concho ramp and a few from there to the pump station. I very seldom leave the river channel except in the spring to fish the points. I have caught many 10's this time of year pitching the river trees with a T-Rig. lizard and using a Short C-rig. 1/2 oz. on and around those humps casting a 10 inch Red Shad power worm.

Lake is fishing really tough right now, there are some nice fish being caught in 20-25' on c-rigs.
