I currently have a Tracker bass boat and it has done everything I've asked, never left me stranded. I'm wanting a boat with a little more deck space up front. My boat now fits in my garage and I would like to keep it that way. Maybe something less than 18ft. Any suggestions?

Buy another Tracker? Or another aluminum bass boat with a larger deck? If your current Tracker has done everything you need, I'm not sure what a short fiberglass is going to gain you.

i had a Lowe 180w stinger and it had a huge front deck for a 18 foot boat. I loved that boat

The only tracker that's bigger is the 190 and I don't think the front deckdeck is any wider. I can get something like nitro z6 used for the same price I think. Just wondering what else is out there.

My first fiberglass boat was a Nitro 882 with a Mercury 150xr6. Did everything I wanted at the time. Good memories. Caught my first DD in this boat on Fork.

Have you seen the Tracker 195 with a 150? Big aluminum boat. Fiberglass, yeah the Nitro Z6 if it's still made. Ranger makes a 117 series that's a nice boat but alot more money than a Z6. Basscat has the Margay that's a big deck 17' rated for a 150.

I would reccomend an 18 footer with a 150. It's a big step up from alluminum boats. I ran a zx185 Skeeter for many years and it will do everything you need.

A trailer with a swing away tongue will help it fit in the garage too. I believe this is on all Skeeter boats now. Not sure but I think so.

Stratos 189 VLO with either a 150 or now you can get it with a 175 is a really good entry level fiberglass boat. At 18'9" it handles really well. I had a 2014 189 VLO and the only reason I traded up was that I had hip replacement and needed a bigger boat to be comfortable. The boat would run 65mph with just me in it and 61/62mph with two guys in it

If it doesn't have one my neighbor had one made for his boat trailer.....

I want something that won't blow around so easy in the wind and scoots across the water a little quicker. I like the look of that basscat margay.

Take a look at the Sabre

Margay with 150 Proxs should scoot... I have a 2003 Sabre with Mercury 150 XR6 and its a good boat

I recently picked up a 17.5' Champion. I love it and you'd have a good sized deck but the down side is the rod storage. While they are deep enough and wide enough to theoretically hold a lot of rods, I am finding that it is a pain to fit a 6'9" rod into the locker. I'm happy with just leaving them out of the locker and carrying them into the garage but if you want rod storage, you should think about that. A friend has an 18.5' Ranger and has no problem with rods, having that extra foot makes a difference.

If I remember right, the boat I currently own is the Nitro 882 Pumadon refers to above. I bought it when he traded it in. Still running strong! 18.5 ft with a 150 is plenty of boat for me to do anything I want to do. Don't have to spent 20k or 30k for a good boat that will last many years of taken care of.
