I'm always amused that the abbreviation for sit in kayaks is SINK!
I'm a sit-on-top kayaker.

I think sit inside kayaks are drier (assuming you don't flip them). I bought a SOT and would again if buying another, but I am about to buy scupper plugs to slow down the amount of water coming into the yak through the "drain holes", and a significant source comes off the paddle dripping into the yak as well which wouldn't be a problem with a Sit in.
Just because you can, doesn't mean you should!

Also if you do flip on a sit on top it is much easier to get back in than a sit in kayak. This would be one of my biggest concerns. A sit in kayak with an open deck could be like a canoe if it flipped - filled with water and hard to get back upright. I saw an Ultimate FX Propel flip and the weight of the propel drive in a kayak full of water made a bad situation worse and the person (and kayak) had to be rescued. For small ponds and fishing within casting distance of the shore, I would be okay with a sit in kayak but I wouldn't feel safe in bigger lakes or far out from shore. How in the world did someone flip a FX Propel?

How in the world did someone flip a FX Propel? It was a big guy taking it for a demo on a very windy day. He admitted that it was his fault that it flipped. If it's anything like the Slayer, it should be very stable.

So I've got the blue camo Talon on order and now I need to know what are some good options for replacing that seat because I can already tell that it's going to get uncomfortable after an hour or two on the water.

Best for fishing out of? A sit on top without question...and in Texas, with the hot weather, a sit on top will also be cooler.
