I'm looking at adding an "Easy-View" or similar tackle storage system to my boat. Anyone had any experience with them? Do they hold up and keep the baits seperate and orderly? Do the adhesive pads hold well or do they come off the lids? ( I dont want to screw into my lids) Do you really use them? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I haven't run in rough water with it yet but the easy view is awesome.I poke a hole in my soft plastic bags below the zipper so they really shouldn't come off of the hooks.I also have not had it installed very long but the pads are still holding well, and if they come off I will just silicone them back on.This thing certainly beats a worm bag,and I also hang spinnerbaits and jigs as well so it frees up a ton of space.Hope this helps.

I screwed it to the center lid brace on my champion. In rough water I have had the bags tear loose and find them in the bottom of the rod locker. You also have to have the bags zipped good or the baits bounce out in rough water.

The new Easy View Systems will come with a tube of silicone and pre drilled holes and pre-cut strips as well. The best way to hang a bag is to insert the jaw of the clip through the hole in the BACK flap of the bag, and extend the jaw below the zip lock line. securing the zipper inside the jaw reduces the posibility of the bag tearing and failing. The Easy View is a great tool to help you reduce your down time on the water. My favorite strip is the one on my pedistal seat. What ever bait I'm throwing at that time, its right there by me and I never have to crack a lid to put on a new one. I can trailer the boat and drive home and those bags and baits will still be there when I get home.

Thanks for the info. I'll be ordering the system real soon. Could one of the strips be used in the livewell to put your culling rings on? Just a thought. Thanks again.

Boy fishing cop, your right on target. Yes you absolutely can put these in your livewell for culling tags. Really the sky is the limit with the application possibilities. Livewells, pedistal seat poles as I had mentioned ect. Let me know if you have any questions. Another neat thing with hanging bags is that if you hang by the BACK flap of the bag as I mentioned before, you can use ONE hand to open a bag, reach in and retrieve a bait, then shut your lid. You dont even have to zip the bag back up until the fishing day is over. All this can be done one handed with your rod still in your hand

I recently installed the system in my Nitro. I didn't trust the sticky pads so I used construction adhesive to attach a 1X3 to the under side of the lids. I then drilled holes in the metal strips and used stainless steel screws to secure the strips and the pads to the board. I used a few more strips than normal because I put extra ones on my center compartment lid for spinner baits and jigs. In doing so I didn't have enough strips to complete one of my rod locker lids. I contacted Easy View and was told that they didn't have the strips available seperatly, but was told to call back at the end of the month and they would try to help me. It sounds like this is a small company with limited employees. The system looks great, but I haven't had in on the water yet.

Hey Jim, I've got a nitro 700LX also! Great little boat. I'd be curious as to how you have yours set up. Your correct. Currently Easy View does not sell individual strips. Easy View is currently converting from its previously packaged lengths to the pre-cut, pre-drilled lengths that will be in the retail package soon to be out. The reason for this as I'm sure you can understand, is so the retail product is identical to the product purchased direct from the manufacturer. Several reasons dictate the new packaging from what I understand, but one of the main reasons for the pre-cut pre-drilled strips is to make the instilation easier for everyone and more of a universal mount. The adhesive you mentioned will be done away with and a small tube of silicone will be included for those who wish to use the silicone mount instead of a screw in mount. They may have thought they might have an extra strip left over from the conversion to the new lengths, but I've never heard of them selling single strips. I know the owner and manufacturer well, and have nothing to gain, but I'd be happy to help you out or answer any questions you might have.

ChadK, I probably talked to you when I called in a couple of weeks ago. You were going to a show out of state. I would like your help in getting one more strip if possible. I set up my 2 rod boxes pretty much like the instructions said concerning the spacing. I set up the center box strips closer together, just enough space to allow me extra clips for jigs and spinner baits. My email is--jponder@plmaustin.com

Fishing Cop, as far as a place to put your culling rings, I got a piece of 1/2" aluminum angle at Lowes, drilled holes every inch or so and then used silicone to attach it to inside of live well lid. I use that to hang my culling clips to---I have the kind with stringer hooks. The aluminum won't rust place it is easy to drill and round the corners on.
Working good so far.
