Whether you think you can or you can't, you are probably right.

Anglers Inn does not charge for transportation to/from the lodge (regardless of how many are in your party) and they do not charge you for a last night in Mazatlan. Something to consider when comparing pricing.

If you have any questions check the internet sites for all the outfitters named above. That's what I did before deciding on Pro Bass Adventures. Go to their web site at: www.mexicofishing.net or call Doug King 480-491-9300 office, or 480-861-5021 cell. He will be more than happy to answer any and all of your questions and send you an information packet. You will not be disappointed should you choose them. I have been down there twice with them and am going again this next Dec. Just wish American Airlines didn't have a monopoly on direct flights from Dallas/Ft. Worth.

Man, I love that there's more options than I knew of!! I'm going to check out this fishmex option and I'll be reaching out to you bonnet............when I get some time. Also going to look at the place mentioned above. I know they're not the big names, but if I don't hear anyone telling me "be wary" about whether they're valid or not, I've always trusted the information I get on this site. Gots LOTS of research to do!!!! And, I LOVE the idea of glass boats instead of three guys in those smaller aluminum boats. BUt, I know either works.

It's as safe as some of the lakes in this country. In fact, I can't remember any issues there in quite some time

+1 for Pro Bass Adventures. Been once to Anglers and it was great. I led a 11 person group March 2015 to El Salto through Pro Bass. 4 days fishing, 5 nights lodging, transportation to and from the Airport. Had a great time, big fish every day was 10+ and we even had 1 11#. Leading another 16 person group March 2017. Call Doug at Pro Bass Adventures 480-491-9300 office, or 480-861-5021 cell.
They have rods also.
Now that American bought US Air it narrowed the choices.

Been the last 3 years and had zero issues. The lodges contribute so much to the local economy, that I would be surprised if there would be an issue. The roads to and from Mazatlan are very safe as well.

Well, it's settled. We're going Jan. 11th - 16th to Pro Bass Adventures. I've been talking to them for the last week. We're just working on getting our 4th and last guy's wife's permission!!!
So, a question for you El Salto experienced folks..............what baits do you love in January?? Also, if jigs or spinnerbaits, what colors? I make my own and will want to load up on skirt material in that color so I can make a bunch over the winter ahead of the trip.
Oh.....and if you've flown down there on American, what's the packing secrets?? I've never flown with my fishing tackle anywhere. Is a rod tube just as costly as a second suitcase? Can you carry on fishing hooks and weights?? I'd think they would not allow hooks in the carryon, but I thought I saw that as a suggestion for us somewhere.
Man, I can't wait!!!!!!!

No hooks in carry on, including lures with hooks. Rod tubes are a pain, just take your reels and use their rods, Watermelon red mag flukes and lizards and senkos. 1 oz spinnerbaits chartreuse and white ,big colorado blades. I think Pro Bass shares space at Anglers INN.

For El Salto--Don't forget white or pearl Magnum Flukes, 1/2-1 oz spinnerbaits chartreuse/white double willow leaf nickel blades, Watermelon red magnum lizards, 10" Power worms in Blue/Black or watermelon red.
Rig with 20# Big Game and/or 20#+ Braid. Take a couple of filler spools in case you bird nest one bad. Upgrade all hooks and split rings to 2X or 4X and one size larger.
Get ahold of Doug a couple of weeks before your trip to get a final tackle recommendation.
I agree with Forkduc rod tubes are a pain and very expensive. Every gate treats them differently and charges can range from $35 each way to $100 for oversize luggage. Use ProBass's rods.
NO HOOKS ON PLANES. Loaded reels are ok as carry on going down. Coming back the line must be off the reels for carry on or put them in your checked bag.

The forms your asked to fill out don't loose the little sheet they give you back, you'll need it to exit! I lost mine once and spent some time being grilled at the office before they released me.
