 Hydraulic steering + Jack plate =. Problem

A couple months ago I bought a Jack plate for my skeeter. When I got it put on, the hydraulic steering fittings for the cylinder hit the transom when lifting the motor. I tried looking, but can't come up with a reasonable solution. This can't be the first time this has happened. Does anybody have a solution? Ultimately i had the Jack plate removed but want to find a solution.

Many jackplates have to be raised up when motor gets trimmed up for trailering. Have seen this on a Cobra bass boat with a Bobs hyd plate. Install maximum down stops.

if the fittings hit the transom, the motor is not high enough on the plate.
and or .. you may need to add setback.
most skeeters run 10 to 12 inches of setback.
some of the older ones only ran 6 or 8 inches, but never seen a problem with the steering
fittings hitting the transom.

I'm thinking with it being a manual plate, I may be out of luck. Can't raise the motor too much or I lose performance. It's only a 6 inch setback, the same as I had on my previous boat. I was hoping to find a way to replumb the hyd lines but may end up paying a little more for a hydr jackplate.

i'm fixing to release my hydraulic jack plates pretty soon.
if your interested let me know.
something else to think about... adding 2" spacers are fairly cheap and may set that
engine back far enough to clear the fittings. they are 159.95
