Made my first trip to T bend and have fished for two days without even a bite. It's a little discouraging considering its a 600 mile trip. Any help would be much appreciated. I just want to catch a fish.

Don't know where you're staying but I can't believe no one will give any advice, especially at the marina. Been there quite a few times and always had good luck fishing the hydrilla. The main lake point in front of San Patricio was always good and the area known as bug island always had good grass. Don't be afraid to ask for help. Good luck tomorrow.

Lake is full so fishing around the heavy grass with a fluke or a worm should pay off. You might even see some schooling bass in the open boat lanes. Little george or gay blade will usually work. Let us know what area of the lake you are fishing. b
If I'm not fishing or hunting I'm hunting a place to fish or hunt.

I've had good luck flipping wacky rigged worms into grass beds around flooded islands and points. The arm that Alpine marina is on has a grass bed that is a good spot just to the west of their ramp.

Grass is nothing like it was in years before the high water. If you are good with electronics, Toledo is a graphing dream. Lots of fish out on flats and drops in 15-22ft. If all else fails, go to housen or Indian mounds and drag an ol monster around the grass...

Fishing on Toledo this year really makes someone miss the hydrilla. Hopefully it'll return one day. I would try some deep points/humps. Also you can almost always catch some around boat docks that are close to deep water, especially if they have grass around them. Carolina rig in the creeks/ditches. When I go in two weeks I'll be throwing a Carolina rig, Zoom Ol' Monster, 1/2 oz jig and wacky worm. Pretty much all I throw during the summer on TB, except for some topwater in the early AM.

You can still catch fish in the bushes. Rig up a 1/2 ounce weight on a sweet beaver and go to work. Also have some fish in the grass points in Housen Bay and 6 mile. The further back in Housen You go the better the grass gets but it's not like it was in previous years. Punch soft plastics through the grass points. They are easiest to locate with SI if you have it. Someone mentioned grass on Bug Island. I haven't seen grass there in years. Used to be a good area when it did have grass but it gets hit hard. If all else fails, go into lanana creek and hit all the feeder creeks on the North shore of Lanana. Fish the boat docks and back of the coves early. You won't catch any big ones doing that more than likely but at least you can get the kinks out of your line! There are fish in there year round. Good luck.

skibuck, you can always depend on TFF for help or advice. Look at the response you received from people you don't even know. 99% of TFF are good folks. You won't hear from the 1%. Hope your fishing trip turns out good for you.

Yes sir! The TFF is pretty awesome most of the time. Thank you all for your willingness to help. I've been whooping them pretty good in west texas all spring and even last week. Guess i got cocky and needed some humble pie. I'm here with extended family as well as my kids so the fishing hasn't been too serious if there is such a thing. Gonna give it one more shot tomorrow and will try all the suggestions. Thanks!

Lol that cracks me up! I've been burning them all year on Toledo. Now I'm in west Texas and struggling tho I had a pretty descent trip Sunday. It's funny how when you leave what you are used to it's like learning to fish all over again. Definitely humbles me. Good Luck on the Bend. Send some my way if you get a chance lol.
