So Lake Whitney is currently 19' above full pool with 53,500 CFS coming out of Granbury. The release out of Whitney is still only 1,500 CFS. I presume they are letting the lower Brazos flush out some before opening the Whitney dam and letting another 25,000+ CFS downstream. Maybe we'll get to fish the river below Whit in July!!!!

PK dam is releasing about 18,000 CFS and their Facebook page says they may open another gate today. The Brazos below Whitney is going to be running high for quite a while!

I made the trip up towards Fort Worth to take my wife to see her sister and since Lake Whitney and the Brazos river are just a stones throw away I swung around that way before heading home. Just like last year at this time many of the Texas lakes and rivers are swelling with floodwater from record rainfall. Severe flooding many miles downstream in the Brazos has required Lake Whitney to hold back as much water as possible for as long as possible until the flooding subsides. This is a tall task considering the rate at which the water is rising in Lake Whitney and continued wet conditions throughout the state..

I doubt it. Whitney going to get 30' high. Corp. told my mother in law to unpin our boat dock. Been going down there 20 + yrs and this is first time the corp. has said that.

Drove over the the dam Sunday, they were releasing water. It looked like a good time to go white water rafting... a couple hours before I got a good look at Lake Waco. It looked as bad as Lake Whitney.
This man's best friend... shh don't tell my wife!
