Had a great morning with Charlie (AKA tenpin) who got in on the softball trips for some dock action at Palestine this morning. Charlie wanted to try out his dock shooting skills that he had been working on after watching a lot of videos and practicing in the driveway.

We started off and caught a few here and there, mostly there and then I hang into something that is trying to wrap me around the boat. Big green lizard that weighed 5.15.

We finally hit a dock and Charlie gets his first keeper dock shooting. Think he is hooked now.

We hit docks all over the lake till noon and call it quits, he ended up with a nice catch to carry home.

It was pleasure Charlie thanks for donating to the kids.

Hey, we're you on the lake on Wednesday? I saw what I thought was your boat "ANCHORED" (2 power poles planted) out from one of your fav. docks!

To begin with .... "tenpin" is my email name ... roflmao Yes, that LMB came on our second or third dock. When I saw how the rod was bent over and moving all over the place, Keyboard kept saying it was a whisker fish. I said that it looked like a bass and then all of a sudden it darted out in front of the trolling motor and came completely out of the water ... like you see in those fish ads roflmao and all Keyboard could say was "Gosh Almighty". I said here I got the net and he managed to turn its head into the net. Can you imagine that a 1/16 oz. jig caught that fish without breaking Keyboard's line? Also.I told him that he had a less than 50% chance of landing the size of that fish on average without the jig hook bending too. The look on Keyboard's face told it all when he held that fish up and asked ... what do you think it'll weigh? After getting the scale on it, he proudly announced that it was the biggest LMB he had ever caught .... fishing for crappie! fish

All in all ... a very good day on the water. See my separate post for an in-depth description of the day's trip. Thanks again Keyboard???? bouncy bannana2

One thing that I forgot that was really hilarious about yesterday's trip .... Right after catching the LMB and not getting another bite ... we proceeded to another dock. Lo and behold on Keyboard's first shot under the dock ... he got a solid thump and judging from the way he wasn't coming up like a crappie ... roflmao ... he got the fish in the boat rather quickly and you guessed it .... Mr. Whisker himself (about a pound in size). fish I said out aloud to Keyboard - "this is quite becoming an interesting trip". I don't recall the time of day but we pulled up to another dock and I quickly had a bite and it turned out to be a rather "smallish" goggle-eye? hammer I asked Keyboard .. what are we missing now in this lake to catch? roflmao I made another shot under the dock and again I set the hook and brought the fish in... fish This one was even smaller than the fish I just released and was another goggle-eye!! barf Keyboard said let's go!!!! banana Before leaving the area I said ... well it seems like we are even now !! cheers He looked at me and said .. WHY??? I told him he has caught TWO trash fish now and I have just caught up to him with my TWO trash fish!!! roflmao Goes to show you that the axiom holds true .... One never knows what to expect when going fishing!!! bow_down
