So.. I've been cat fishing the past 2 weekends on Sam Rayburn and have completely struck out. I've tried from 25 feet to 5 feet, and used soured chicken feed to chum. Used live bait and many different kinds of stink bait. I usually don't have any trouble, but with the rising water its been tough. Any suggestions?

Lake has been rising on Lake Tawakoni. I fished some rocks on the bank with a cork and caught quite a few. Have you tried fishing some rocks

Stubby is right...gotta stay on them if you want to consistently catch...you can catch 40 blues one morning and go to the same spot/same conditions the next day and catch 4...nothing beats time on the water...eventually you will learn where they go,when and why...make some fishing contacts on your lake and start sharing info. Rayburn has some good humps and points...go to where the sandbass and hybrids are biting and fish under and around them. this time of year they are easy to find...spring time blues a lot harder.

I'm not familiar with Sam Rayburn but you might try in or near a feeder creek. Somewhere that new water is entering the lake.
