Anything over 8ft. I stay shallow all year so when I tell my fishing partner I'm gonna fish deep and go to 10ft, he gets this puzzled look on his face lol

Depends on the lake you are fishing.

Yep, standing on front of my 20' foot boat looking aft, it don't look that far to me.... I think deep is a relative term to the style of fishing you like best, to some people deep is 10' foot..

Good answer Red Skeeter! 20 feet might as well have been the Mariana Trench to me back in the day. Then I took a look at my motor from the front of my 21 I Class. Its simply not that deep when you look at it that way. Anything shallower than 30 feet is now fair game.

Everything on your bass boat is broken......You just don't know it yet.

Wonder if the area you fish is only 10 feet deep?

Deep is a relative term. There are always fish shallow. So the answer really is the deep water next to shallow water.

Example: if you are fishing a summertime pattern and the water is 12 feet deep in the area, but there is a 14 foot trough, then the deep water is 14 feet, not 12.
If you are on a flat that is 4 feet deep, and you find a hole that is 6 feet deep, then that's deep water.

What is more important to me than the depth of the water, is the cover that provides a cooler area. That's why I love to fish the edges of Hydrilla. The fish might be in 6 feet of water, but underneath that 2 foot thick Hydrilla mat, the water is 10 degrees cooler than the surface water.

"Any man who thinks he can be happy and prosperous by letting the government take care of him had better take a look at the American Indian".

Never looked at it like that but you make a good point. My goal this year was to get better fishing 20+ feet but the shallow bite has been too good with all the flooding.

Depends on the lake and clarity and of course time of year. But when someone tells me deep. I consider that more than 10'
