You might try here: http://fiberglassics.com/It's the best resource for old fiberglass boats I've found.

Try this website. It might have some info for you. I think the spot in front of the console is for a seat with storage or a bait tank. http://www.iboats.com/b/m/phantom/

I found a guy on the craigs list that has one just like mine, and he wouldn't tell me what his boats yellow tag said. It was like he thought i was trying to steal it or something.

I've worked on one or two of those Phantoms. The last one I remember I think had a ice chest with a soft top on it in that spot in the console and the max hp was 70

Capt Pat is right about the console. It housed a 48qt. Igloo ice chest that you can still buy today. (Just bought one at Walmart about 2 months ago) As far as hp rating they were rated for 70hp. All in all they were not too bad of a boat. Just an average run of the mill unit that did handle 1.5 foot chop fairly well. They were set up for the crappie/catfisherman and most came with either a Johnson or a Chrysler........

Thanks guys ! Mine was actually fitted with a 50 hp mercury. I thought that spot was for an ice chest, but i can't find one to fit in the cut out spot. I have found a 90 hp mercury with tilt and trim i'm going to put on it. I'm also going to put a 1/4" aluminum plate between the motor and the transom, to help take off the sharp torque, directly off the transom, and to spread out the torque across the transom. This boat is pretty solid, and the transom is too, so i should be ok. I don't plan on running it wide open, all the time, that way it shouldn't tear anything up. I've had this boat on tawakoni, over by the dam in 30mph wind, heading at us from the whole lake towards the dam. I just raised the nose up a little and it handled great. It can handle some pretty nasty weather,if it arises, but i rather not be out there in it to start with.
