Looking to take my grandson crappie fishing at Purtis Creek State Park. Anybody know of a bait shop that sells minnows nearby? Driving from Rockwall to Phalba/Eustace area so something along the way would be good. Thanks.

There is a place called "The Store" on the north side of 175 between Kemp and Mabank that may have what you need.

Also a tackle shop on Hgwy 198 just north of Hgwy 31 in Malakoff.

There is a tackle shop in Eustace. Pretty sure they sell live bait.

You might call the office at Purtis Creek and ask if they know where the closest one is.

Couple of places off of 175 coming from Dallas before you turn off for Purtis Creek... I prefer the tackle shop on the left right before you turn off. Cant remember the name of it right now but they have a good selection of bass gear and their minnows seemed to be in better shape than some of the others that were at service stations.
