We're thinking bout getting out to Ray Bob this wknd, was out there bout 3 wks ago. Any updates on the crappie would be appreciated. They were liking the minnows more than Bobby garland last time. What color is working, if any? And specifics on the lake would be much appreciated. Also, I doubt it but are the boat ramps still fine after all this darn rain?
Thank you

I mainly fish Ray Bob for crappie from Memorial Day till mid October fishing the timber. Made my first trip last Saturday and only managed 17. I was dunking minnows and my friend was using a small white plastic. Minnows out produced two to one.

A friend and I fished the timber Monday. We wasn't able to get to the lake until 2:00 in the afternoon. We fished until almost 6:00. We caught close to 20 keepers and had several throwbacks. It was a lot of work to catch what we did. Haven't figured out why you can only catch a couple off of a tree then time to move to the next tree. Jigs and minnows seemed to produce equally. Caught fish in 15 fow and caught fish in 35 fow. Sorry I can't give a better report but to be honest I haven't been able to figure that lake out yet. Not hard to catch a good mess of crappie if you are willing to work at it. Not a good time to take small children to catch some fish. At least not for me.

Went with Cody Tucker last week and fished the timber. Caught 25 in 20-30 FOW. As stated before, it was stick and move. Catch maybe 4 at best off a tree then move. Plenty of trees so it wasn't a big deal. I used Thermocline lures in just about every color and all caught at least one.
