Thanks fish 'till I drop for the reply.  We were fishing from a boat that day. I have fished Inks from the bank at the State Park and did well. I fished it that time during the summer months and the park was crowded. Next time I bank it there it will be in the off season. Late September early October.

It would be a fairly long drive for me and I wouldn't enjoy fishing in a crowded park. If you do want to make a road trip wait until after Labor Day in late September. You are like me. I hate crowds. I usually do not fish on the weekends. For me it's Monday through Friday.

Thanks Curtis for the reply. Inks is a very nice lake and there is a nice population of sunfish there. As for the boat ramps the only public ramps are at the State Park. There is only one double ramp. Thanks Chuck. Hope to fish Inks this year.

Great fishing guys. As has been said. Fishing with friends is what it is all about. You all were in my neck of the woods. I love fishing Lake Buchanan and have fished that lake a lot over the years. Never got the chance to fish Inks. Heard that Parks&Wildlife made Inks a Trophy Striper Lake? Also that area has received a lot rain over the past several months. Buchanan is almost full. Again nice post and thanks for sharing.

What determines a trophy lake? Is it the number or size fish you can take?

A friend of mine has spent a couple of weekends over the last month at Inks Lake. I may have to invite myself on the next camping adventure. Haha!

Jeff Inks is a good lake to visit for sure! There are some nice Bluegill in that lake. Bob: I think a Trophy Lake(For Striped Bass) has a one fish limit that has to be over 24". I could be very wrong on this.  I could also not find any regulations that had been put in place on Inks Lake as for striped bass fishing.  According to the fishing regulations for Inks lake it is a five fish limit for the Striped Bass!  Side Note: If any angler has knowledge on the above please let us know.
