I've been fishing the two northern points this month from around 7-11pm from a kayak and the bank when it's really windy. Haven't caught a single decent sized white or striper. Mostly small bass and crappie on 3-4" storm swimbaits? Where are the whites at?

Lake Bardwell has been releasing water for a few weeks according to the Ft worth dist corp of engineers and usually when this happens fishing on the main lake suffers quite a bit but below the dam is AWSOME. BTW I think you are referring to the points at the southern end of Bardwell. When there isn`t a draw on the lake from the dam you can catch them near the dam face deep trolling 2cents

Thanks. I've been fishing the points near Big and Little Mustang Creek parks.

Haven't tried it in a while, but usually can find sandbass around the points by love park. Might give that a try.

Ok now I know where you are targeting them. Near the old Waxahachie rd. bridge. That end is pretty shallow Jason I would recommend you try the deeper point off the Highview Park peninsula &the point off Love Park just like forsanmedic said when ever they stop releasing water.Bouncing a slab off the bottom should get you bit or you can always use the Famous Dennis Christian method with the Mepps spinners. He kills the Sand Bass & Hybrids on CC with it. You should check out his Video on this Technique IT WORKS!

The most action I've gotten has been on the south side of the point at Love. That's the point where the COE office is. They have been anywhere from 6-20 ft deep. Had some schooling action along that east bank Sat. morning. South of that point toward the dam, before you get to the rocks. In my opinion, I wouldn't go out in a kayak on a Sat. or Sunday, in this area, this time of year, unless it was very early, and you're off by 10:00am. The wake board boats will easily swamp you, and they don't pay any attention, or don't care, about anybody or anything.

What's the fee to get into Love Park? $5/vehicle?

No fee for love park at the moment. The sandies were really surfacing Tuesday before the rain hit. Me and a cousin limited out in about an hour and a half near the points by love park.
