I live in Richmond and just brought My boat down here from east Texas. Are there any lakes big or small close to Richmond. I know of Fayetteville and some of the lakes an hour away. I was just wondering if there was anything closer to just run out and fish. Or maybe a pond that holds some good fish.

Wolfmann,
Texana is probably the closest and easist to get to. Should be right at an hour from Richmond.
In SW Houston, we don't have lakes as close as the folks on the north side.
Our day trips are either to Fayette or Somerville.

Hey wolfmann, Ive been in willis, north of houston for 2 years. Im not sure where richmond is but good ol lake conroe is up here. It can be a very aggrivating lake to fish, but has some good ones in it. Lake conroe is about an hour north of downtown houston. There is also lake houston and sheldon lake on the east side of town. Lake houston is dirty and the fish are smaller, but its better than not fishing. Sheldon is a small lake but has produced a few 10lb pluss fish this year. good luck, sorry you got stuck living this close to houston.
