Well we went out early tues. and put in at south shore and headed straiht across. Wasn't to bad, early was good and fishable. Thing is nobody told the fish. Early water temp was at 47* and visible to 4 feet or so. We hit main points in 15-20 ft and got nothing. The finder showed em down there but our lines didn't. Then the cold front hit and we would have had more fun with the surf boards then the poles. Wind made all unfishable. Blown to fast to fish at all on main lake. So we decided to trailor and head to river. After a shower from charging the white caps we hit the river and tried some banks pretty far up. Water temp never got higher then 51*. Still to cold for grass so wasnt much to look for. I finally got to bumps but were so soft my reaction was too slow. That was on plastics dead stickin it in 10-12 ft. My partner never felt a thing. He threw everything including the kitchen sink. My conclusion is that the water temp just isnt there yet but atleast they are starting to move up out of the extream deep. 2-3 weeks is my prediction and mid march they should be on. When the water hits mid 60's, i'll be there.

Fish deeeep water drops with jigging spoon. If you spot some bait or fish on your graph give the spot a try. If don't have any luck within 15-30 min. Try another spot. Don't be hessitant to try really deep 25-30-40-50 ft. Telephone pole point, four finger points are good places to start. Good luck.

I had a great time. The lake was windy on Saturday and I started deep and worked my way in. I broke one off early in 12 foot of water but didn't get a good hook set and she tied me to a tree. It was the only bite I had in the morning. At 12:00, I didn't have a fish in the boat and found an area along a creek channel with trees on the edge at 5 feet then dropping into 12 feet. I stated flipping the trees and got three good fish by 1:00. The wind was making it impossible to hold there so I moved to another area that was similar and caught two more keepers. I end up with a little over 18 pounds Saturday. Sunday was beautiful and no wind. I had my limit by 10:30 but could not find a good kicker. I had a little over 12 pounds and ended up with just over 30 for the weekend which was only good enough for 4th place in our club. One club member had a special day on Saturday with 5 chunks for 32 pounds. Heavy stringer for 2 days was 42 pounds.

You fishing back up in the river? Only creek I know about on the main lake is possum. Got any more details as to where and what you threw?
Thanks for the report.

Thanks for the report. You are correct on the location. Most were caught on jigs. Also had luck with a fluke.
