Any tips for finding sand bass on Lavon would be greatly appreciated. Want to make this a good trip for us both. Thank you

Sandbass are easy pickings right now. Put it at collin park head towards the dam. Fish are behind the islands on the south side and towards the rail road tressel by mallard park follow the birds there will be a lot you can't miss them. Use small slabs. Will catch lots of dinks but magnums are mixed in. Good luck!

Definitely use some binocs to locate birds! Simple as that

I used Mallard Park cause it's close to me, yes a lot are closed.

What ramps are open now ? Looks like a ton are closed. Avalon and East Fork were both closed when I went last in April. East Fork is supposed to be closed all summer. We used the one on the east side of the dam. Lavon is going to be a mess this summer with the ramps closed.

Lavon Boat ramps currently open are:
Brockdale, Highland, Ticky Creek,
Mallard, Twin Groves, Bratonia,
Clearlake (South) & Lavonia North & South.
East Fork Day Use and boat ramp are closed.
Avalon Park and boat ramp are closed.
Mallard Day Use is closed.
Little Ridge Day Use and boat ramp are closed.
Lakeland Park and boat ramp are closed.
Pebble Beach Park and boat ramp are closed.
Elm Creek Park and boat ramp are closed.
Caddo Park and boat ramp are closed.
Ticky Creek Day Use is closed.
Clearlake Day Use is closed.
