You will get varying opinions of those. Some people think they are very effective, other people do not like them because they tend to fall off the hook easily and will stain a boat's carpet. I personally use them when the bite is slow, and I think they help. Why they help me is debatable. They may help because they make fish hold on longer, or they may simply help because i think they help, and thus i pay better attention and have increased confidence. In either case, I also bring some with me. And 50 cents a jar is a steal, so if I were you I might buy another jar or two.

If you use tube jigs you need one of these things http://www.thebaitpump.com/ Works great and no more mess or loss of nibblet with just a hit. No I have no connection with it, just a good product that works for me.

I used them years ago, and they worked for me, just pray for no bream in the area. The bream will clean your hook all day long. I stopped using nibbles because I found the mighty meal worm, I tip my jig with a small chunk of meal worm, ice fishermen have used meal & wax worms for years to catch crappie, so I gave it a try and crappie held on longer. Back to the nibbles, buy them it never hurts to have scent and taste when fishing a jig............

I've had a lot of success with nibbles. When they slow down for other guys that aren't using them I keep catching. That bait pump looks like a great idea ($14.95 is correct according to web page). Perch will strip the nibbles. WM does have them on some of their clearance tables for as little as $.50.

I've wondered about the niblets myself. Sounds like they're worth a try. I have, however tried the earthworms and have never gotten a bite on them. Not even bream in a pond where my son was using breadballs successfully. John

I think nibbles may work when the bite is slow. I always keep a few jars on me. I've also tried the power wigglers on jigs and have found that when the bite is slow, just a little extra flavor and scent will entice a bite.

Hello.......My name is Tony and I'm a Nibbleholic. I wouldn't tie a jig on for years without a nibble. I would take them out of the jar, put them in an aluminum pie pan and let them dry in the sun for about an hour or so and they will stay on the hook better. They can be addictive. I still use them with feather jigs when things are tough, but with my plastic baits I have switched to the Yum baits sold by www.crappiepro.com. These baits have the Yum flavor cooked into them and I really like them. They replace the nibbles for me and are not nearly as much trouble or messy. To answer your question, I think dice123 summed it up very well. When things are tough, what can it hurt to try them?

TXCRAPPIEFISHER IF YOU GO TO THE DRUG STORE AND ASK FOR A SYRINGE LIKE YOU WOULD GIVE MEDICINE TO A CHILD. I THINK THIS WOULD WORK. IF YOU NEED SOMETHING BIGGER GET A FLAVOR INJECTOR LIKE YOU WOULD INJECT FLAVOR INTO MEAT. THE SYRINGE IS FOR ORNAL MEDICINE ONLY NO NEEDLE.I LAY THE CRAPPIE NIBBLIETS OUT AND LET THEM DRY THAT WAY THEY STAY ON THE HOOK LONGER. HAVE A FRIEND ON LAKE FORK THAT CALL CRAPPIE NIBBLIETS , CRAPPIE COCANE. HE BIES CRAPPIE NIBBLIETS BY THE CASE.SYRINGE SHOULD BE VERY CHEAP. THEY MAY GIVE YOU A COUPLE. HOOK-EM
