Not the one in England, lol.
I always read about people talking about the pillar "Stonehenge" structure in surfside. Can someone show me on the map where it is? Feel like I've driven up and down SLP without finding it.

If you go to Surfside you will have to pay a $2 toll to go over the SLP bridge. Once over go approx. three miles down from there and you will see a large concrete structure that is called "Stonehenge"

You wouldnt happen to be able to show me on a map/approximate the address for me, would you?
Ive driven pass the toll bridge both ways a couple of times, but never saw anything out of the ordinary. I'm not sure what I should be looking for, or perhaps I'm just a special kind of blind.

There is a smaller (than England's) Stonehenge replica in Ingram, just west of Kerrville. It used to be on a private ranch further west from Hunt, but it was donated to the Ingram Arts group and they moved it. Worth looking at. It's only about 100 yards from the Guadalupe River/Old Lake Ingram.
That's probably not what you were asking about, though. Island Jim

If the "Stonhenge" you're talking about is the same as the one I'm thinking of I thought the pillars got wiped out after Ike. I don't remember seeing them there the last time I was down (last year). But they marked one of the last reliable beach access points east of Surfside and west of SLP. If you pull Google maps and find SLP with the earth view on, follow bluewater highway west until you see the canal coming close to the road just south of Cold Pass. The pillars I am talking about were basically on the other side of the road from that. Hope it helps.

They used heavy machinery and big trucks to remove the remnants of Stonehenge a few years back. Not a trace of it is left that can be seen. That is also near the place called the car bodies which also cannot be seen.
Anyway it is closer to the toll bridge than to Surf Side. If your on Blue Water heading west, and you see the old Chinamans pier in the bay to the north, you can see where SH was a bit farther west on the gulf side. Anyway your close.
Or there is a big grove of cedars on the gulf side. Access the beach as soon as you can past the cedars and you will be close. If you pass a big sky blue beach house on the gulf side, you've gone to far.
Or get on the beach at the Condos" and head back east, pass the beach house, and before you get to the cedars..... well it was in that area.
I probably have some digits on my old GPS.

Ahhh, it seems i missed a geographical little wonder in surfside. A little sad I'll never get to see it. What exactly did it look like? Was it like a miniature version of the English Stonehenge?
Also, where is beach access 7? Is that the little dirt road on Bluewater highway opposite of the Cold Pass Pier?
