I got it at Bass Pro online, there isn't a Bass Pro close by so I'd have to drive to Houston to refund over the counter. I was impressed with how they handled the transducer, just figured they would do something similar. I don't mind sending them the old unit back I just hate waiting and don't want to send it in unless I'm fairly certain that is the issue. In any of your opinion do you think I've done everything else properly and it's probably the head unit?

What do you mean by hard reset? I did restore factory defaults the first time I had it on the water.

Ask Lowrance on how to do a hard reset on that model, it's different than Flippins & mine.

You couldn't return it at the store anyways if you bought it online, they won't do that there.

If the transducer is plugged in properly you should be getting some kind of reading though.

im getting a new unit installed up front. was going with lowrance elite 7, but they just called and said the transducer would not fit on the trolling motor. I could go with an hds unit , and that way it could talk to the hds unit on the dash, and that transducer would evidently fit, however this sounds like a lot of money just to get side scan on the bow....Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions?

I have no clue how the transducer won't fit. I won't do it, but there are even brackets to put a Lowrance skimmer transducer on a TM. I bought an Elite unit that came with a combo transducer for 2D & HDI downscan. Lowrance sells a $20 plastic housing kit for this transducer that is specifically for mounting it on a TM. Transducer Shield and Save makes a bracket for that transducer also. I have one of each as I have one Elite unit/transducer on the TM of my small boat, and that same transducer on the TM of my Ranger 521. (The transducer is compatible with HDS and Elite units.)

No Elite model that I know of does sidescan, but I admit I am not an Elite hardware expert. I'm wondering if you are saying sidescan when you mean downscan. To my knowledge, Lowrance StructureScan for HDS is sidescan + downscan, and for Elite units StructureScan is downscan only. Is there really a sidescan transducer for Elite models?

BTW, the current production StructureScan transducers for HDS are about 10 inches long. They are not a great fit on a TM, and the people who put one there are a minority of those who use HDS. A much more common thing is the much smaller 2D/downscan transducer that is standard with some Elite units, which is what I put on my Ranger with HDS.

Unless I'm not hearing the full story, the installer doesn't know what they are doing. The HDI transducer adapter is:

The Elite 7 Ti is available with a Total Scan transducer that does Side Scan, Down Scan and 2D sonar. That is probably the transducer that "won't fit".

Thanks, Wayne. Lowrance's info on options for products is poorly organized. One would think that clicking on "options" at the main page of a product would show all the options available with that unit, but that's not what they have generally.

It's a new product Flippin, it appears to be a re-badged gen2 non-touch model. Has gen1 specs though with capabilities, 1k wypts vs 5k on the gen2's. Pretty good value though, biggest drawback is the lack of enet network. Only has nmea networking.

As far as fitting on the tm, it should unless you have the model where the skeg is in the front. That would cause a problem.

I remember when a x85 was the badazz graph and it cost $500. I thought I was insane spending $500 on a graph. As much as I love the new technology, it's sure getting out of my affordable price range quickly. I'm not too sure what I'll do when my gen2's kick the bucket.

Finally got my Gen 2 Touch 12 installed and networked with my Gen 2 8. All data transferred properly except my WP symbols and numbers are now Very small on the 12 and the 8 displays.
I cannot not find anything on how to increase the size of the displayed WPs. Has anyone else had this issue? If so, are the displayed WP symbol and number size adjustable?

Did you try the "text size" setting under Settings/System? I'm not sure if this affects the WP size or not. I know it does change the text size in menus and dialog boxes.

Thanks for the reply, yes I tried that no effect. It was set to normal, but only had one other option, small.

Please post a message if you find a solution. Have you checked that you have the most current firmware installed? Even new boxed units have a transit time from the factory in China, so the latest isn't always on them.
