Bruce, as a UT alum, I'd be more embarrassed that we beat ya'll last year! LOL Just pulling your chain!

I see your point, but don't assume that if an OU angler lost access to a boat at the last minute, another big red boat would suddenly appear!

These are college kids that don't get a lot of financial support and have to make things happen on their own. That's what he was trying to do and it's no reflection on his school or alumni!

Geez!

ut beat OU last year ?
all I remember is that OU was in the final 4 playoffs.
banana
cheers
Not just "another Big Red boat" ,,,,,, but a BIG RED SOONER SCHOONER !!!!!!
in all seriousness I hope they get what they need.
One of those Austin boat dealers needs to step up.
Let's all send emails to a couple of boat dealers in the area !!!!!!!!!
if we can all get on here and complain about thieves and go back n forth about what boats are best,,,, surely the TFF group can influence a dealership to loan them a boat.

It is more embarrassing that the man has to come on the TFF and ask about getting a loaner boat.
I understand that college Bass Fishing Teams are "clubs",,,& are not funded by the athletic department,,,,,, but they still fly the ut colors and use the ut name & represent the university.
where are all the ut exes ....the Alums ??? Why don't they already have access to a big burnt orange & white bass boat ?

as a fisherman, I hope they get what they need.
As an OU alum: I don't know if I am dumb founded or amused that they cannot get any support right out of Austin.

When I fished with UTA last year, we only had a few members. It was hard to keep participation up when only 4-6 of us wanted to fish. The college pretty much tried to kill the bass organization and we had to fight to keep it going. We had to pay all our [censored], minus the fundraiser tourney we had. It sucks when you want to fish, and try, but other schools actually fund their programs, provide boats etc. Good luck on finding a boat man.

HA HA HA HA HA, that's funny and very believable. roflmao texas

If this tournament was at Lewisville like it used to be in the past I would probably let these guys borrow mine, I remember what it was like when i was at UT and we had limited access to boats. Alabama is just too far, too much can happen between here and there

I have a small dual console TZX 190 here in Tyler with a 175 on it. Sure it is not what you are looking for. But, if you want to come through Tyler and get it, I'll clean it out and you're welcome to use it. (I'll want a liability waiver) Hook Em

Carl you are the man! Thanks for treating these guys well when others choose to take a different route.

I'm sure they're reaching out to everyone they know to try to make it to the championship this year and still coming up short, which is why I would assume they're also posting it on here. To the gentlemen offering their boats for use, thanks for offering help to the guys in need! thumb

I was the founding president for the UT Arlington club in 2007-2010. The UT system does not have ANY support for their bass fishing clubs. I remember going through the whole process to make it into a university sanctioned club and before I graduated they had found a way to make it impossible.

1. They created a new rule that teams could only travel outside the metromess between the hours of 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM. No traveling at night. Would have made getting up early to make the drive for a one-day tournament a huge headache. 2. They wanted all teams to take one vehicle to travel outside the metromess. I actually had to explain to them that hauling 3 boats with 1 vehicle was not doable.

I was constantly told that the club would qualify for some amount of allocated funds but we never saw a nickel. Everything was on our dime. I absolutely understand and sympathize with Rene. I can't offer much more than support.

If you come through Arlington on your way out of state, I'll buy you lunch.

Does the OU team have a maroon and white boat provided by alumns? No.

There are dozens of club sports. Would you expect them all to be directly supported by donations from alumni? This is a 9 year old club...might take a while longer before this benevolent mystery millionaire steps up and floats the team a new wrapped boat.

Or he is just saying that they had their expenses accounted for?

I can assure you that this is legit and not a scam.
