An Update here fellows!
Well visited this weekend with an older fellow was telling me about some homemande cheese bait with cotton seed mix in it, plus his wifes other ingreditents. Didnt get that was, but all i know, he kept it in his tractor shed and it smell like a rotten animal in there, and i guess if thats what it takes to make some foul smelling stuff so be it! will do that down there, not here at the house, because i guess i will have all the local neighbors cats hanging out here!
Not sure how much, but will do some expierement with some cheese's. Dont have any tadpoles here, but the main option most people are mentioning is cut bait and down deep..... We dont feed the fish yet, i have plenty of bait fish for cats to eat, perch galore and other small minows. One step at a time, did see yesterday morning a nice pair of mallards flying off once i got near the pond at day light there......
Keep the ideas rolling, taking notes.....
thanks again, cheers to all.......

I had the same problem... I started feeding them the floating catfish food, Not real often but at least twice a week. Did that for about 3 weeks... They got kinda fond of that .... Then, the day of reckoning came .... I put a treble hook on my line and put a very small cork right above it ... Put same cheese bait on the hook ... Threw it out in the pond .... They grabbed that hook like it was the floating food ... Caught a mess as fast as I could bait and throw back out ....
Worked on both my tanks....

Also, if bullheads are present in the pond, big channel cats will devour a 4-8" bullhead. We used to bait trot lines on a pond with big (5-15lb) channels with small bullheads, live bluegill, and goldfish and they bullhead lines almost always had a nice channel cat on themZ

I'm on other forums that deal with the old turbo powered Buicks.;)

I ran into a similar situation on a stock tank my buddy owned. We threw everything at em. Finally ended up trying some shrimp. We filled up two five gallon buckets with catfish in about two hours. It was insane! I'd try shrimp
