Have used Walmarts only for past 12 years. I replace them every 3 years, even if no issues. Never have had a problem with this practice.
In memory of my childhood friend Dan Sterling, who taught me at an early age how to catch bream with a hand-line, and who unknowingly hooked me on fishing for life.

My favorite thing about Walmart batteries is everything! I've used interstate before, but switched to walmart ever start for the price. I can't really tell a difference. If they go out, just take them back to wally himself to get some new ones. Keep that receipt though.

I have used them for years. Batteries never go bad at home, it's always at the lake when I try to crank or a trolling motor doesn't run right. A WalMart is always near any lake.

Yea there's a ton of Walmarts at boat ramps. Buy em! Very true. Cheap batteries are just that - cheap. Are they good enough for some guys? Yes, I am sure they are if the demands for reliability & performance are not high.

Yes, I am sure they are if the demands for reliability & performance are not high. From the looks of this thread, they are more "relaiable and perform" better than the batteries that cost $100 more...each!

29max carries the two year warranty. Perk of Walmart is there is one near every lake. Just had an instance where the two year warranty came in handy...Back in March, had a trolling battery that was not holding a charge, knowing it was going bad I paid for a Group 29 MAXX. When i got around to installing it, i realized both the batteries had a 4/14 tag. Went back with the battery, they replaced it, gave my cash back and I walked away happy.

I suggest that everyone do some research. Go find out what company manufactures the Everstart batteries and Interstates. Then compare ratings on equivalent sized batteries. Report back to us your findings.

The actual origin of the manufacturing process for Interstate Batteries is vague. The automotive, truck, and marine batteries are made by Johnson Controls which makes 65% of the automotive, truck, and marine batteries sold in the USA. Johnson Controls also makes the batteries for Wal-Mart and AutoZone. From Louisiana to Southern California the Interstate brand batteries are made by a Johnson Controls manufacturing plant in Monterrey, Mexico. In the other states, the batteries are made by Johnson Controls in the United States. This might help!!

I bought a 29 maxx trolling battery last year in July, it never was right on holding a charge but I kept using it, then in March I took it back to Wal-Mart and had them check it on the hand held machine and they said it was okay. I told him check it on another machine under a load, he came back in 10" and gave me a full replacement. It has been running like a champ and last long enough to fish from sunup to sundown. My other was a a dud, but they made it right, so I'll keep going back. . .
I told my boss I wouldn't be in today, I got my arm in a cast!!! ========================================================= I have spent most of my life fishing. . . the rest I've just wasted.
