A number of people fish the Brazos on the south side of the the Hwy 6/loop 340. Mostly for catfish since the river is so high now. Number of spots on the Brazos and Baylor (small docks), all along Cameron Park, and below the Lake Waco dam on the Bosque there are a number of spots. There is also a community lake in Belmead that TPWD stocks. Lots of spots around Lake Waco like below the twin bridges on either side and below the bridge of hwy 185.

if you can still get to the bosque river below the lake Waco damn in the tail-race there is good for catfish and white bass. park has been closed a long time, but when I was in school there you could park in the front and they would let you just walk down to the water.
