We got out Sat. AM on BP. Caught some shad, which is not hard to do at all, any where on the lake.
Water temps were 67 early, up to 74 in the late afternoon.
Water clarity, None! Zero!
We went up the river to see if any clear water might have run in after the rains stopped. Even darker brown up there.
There were some areas that were clearer around where the river and Northwest marina cove come together.
Trolled ronrigs, nada.
Fished shad up the river, by Steel Island, then back up toward Wise County Park.
Marked a lot of fish, bait, and debris on the sonar.
Finally caught a sand bass a little ways from the power lines down from Wise Co Park. Then a 22" hybrid, and some cats.
The hybrid proved to me the lake still has some in it. How many, I don't know. Further investigating will tell.
Shad scattered but continuously hitting the surface.
If not for my thumper, I doubt we would have caught anything. We could definately tell the difference on the sonar.
Will try the main lake next week sometime, depending on how much rain we get tonight.

That's tough fishing it sounds like. Maybe the lake will get back to normal in a month or so.

Thanks JBOBO. You saved me a trip to Bridgeport next week. I can wait for the lake to clear back up. Guess it is going to be back to PK this week - which is not a bad thing.

I fished it friday. Caught 6 sandies in a couple of hours. The water down by 380 bridge actually isn't too bad.
