I wouldn't recommend Islamorada, Florida Bay is having some major issues right now.
I'd head further down the Keys and fish out of Sugarloaf or Key West.

I'd head further down the Keys and fish out of Sugarloaf or Key West. Yep they definitely have some issues. None the less, if you want to give it a shot and are on a budget, give my friend Cordell a call. He does guided trips on foot for peacock bass and exotics and poled canoe trips for bonefish and permit. Find out what is going on in Miami area. If its tough, he will tell you. If you want to experience arguably the best bonefishing on the planet, go just 90 miles south of the Keys to Cuba. I just got back from 10 days down there last month and we got tired of catching bonefish by day 3. Already booking my next trip. Get down there before they open it up to American general tourism...
