Keep working the docks. Not every one will hold fish. I would look for docks that are at least 5ft deep. Headed out there this week and hope to have a better report.

I would look for docks and timber close to the river channel. I don't fish the lake, but I would say most if not all the fish have spawned already. They should be huntin for sompin to eat...

All docks are NOT created equal! Especially on CC. One may hold a limit, the next 10 may not yield a single fish. Look for the deepest docks you can find. If it has 7-10' water at the front edge, you'll probably catch fish. If it's near a drop off or channel you will definitely catch fish.

I've been out there the last 2 weeks and the Crappie are on the docks. We brought home 22 the weekend before last and 18 on Thursday. The north end of the lake has been muddy/stained, so I've been fishing the docks from mid lake to the south end. The docks that produce the most for me are the ones that have a large deck that provide a lot of shade, and sit lower to the water compared to others. Hope this helps.

Would you mind sharing your exact tackle set up, c4fish? Including line style and weight, jig head weight and jig preference?

here is the secret to cedar creek. go to GOOGLE EARTH and find cedar creek lake. then go to the top tab and click on VIEW/ Scroll down the tabs and click on HISTORICAL IMAGERY. Go back to the lake and slide the little slider on the top left to this date. 11/17/2014 The lake was extremely low at this date. you can easily see which are the deepest docks, and even brushpiles on points if you look closely. At the bottom of the page you see grid coordinates that change when you move the mouse. so move the mouse onto the deep dock and click on it with a pinmark. you can record the grid coordinates and input them into your GPS, make a map, sketch a map, whatever you want to do. theres even a program to convert the gps coordinates to humminbird or lowrance format. GPS BABEL is one. RIDELEADER is another. Deep docks on or near points should be great. Where you find good docks you will find good brush, and vice versa. once you look at what im telling you, you will see why you can shoot 60 docks and not catch a fish, but find the 15 percent that hold fish and you will be a rockstar. If you have questions, pm me. I had to figure this out on my own, and spent abt 30 hours searching and marking the deep docks and brushpiles on google earth.
one more thing, the crappie sometimes sit in front of the docks, so pay attewntion to your sonar as you come up to them. Take 5 good shots from different angles under the dock,. if no action move on. Theres way more good docks than you can shoot in one day. Shooting docks is a reaction bite situation, your not jigging, jukon, and jiving.. you shoot it, let it set a couple seconds, short hop it, once let it set a second, then short hop it back or slow roll it back to the boat, a small roadrunner with black /chart plastic jig is a good lure to try. use hi vis line and watch your line at all times. NOW GO WHACK EM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

Thanks for all the advise. will try the maps. as for big crappie using the ugly stick and jig with green shad or a shad pole. used yall a few weeks ago and trying to copy. had a great trip in tough weather conditions. liked the shooting thing because it is so active. will try to find some brush and jig some. yall know the wind has been a killer the last few days. Well thanks again and hope to get out this week and try em on.

Fished some docks today that I limited out on 2 weeks ago and only had 11 keepers to show for it along with about 30 5-8 inch fish. They are definitely starting to move to their summer spots.
