I was bass fishing at the Lewisville Stewarts Creek ramp in the corner. I saw a 2 foot water snake swimming along about 20 feet from the bank. It saw me and turned in my direction, then what I saw next was way cool...... a BIG bass came up and took the snake in one big whooossh!!! Sorry, no pictures, it happened too fast.
Tight Lines! God Bless

Cool!
I'm gonna throw some hooks in one of those big rubber snakes my grandparents put around their deck so birds don't poop on it.

Can you imagine catching that bass a few minutes after he ate that snake? Instead of a shad tail or crawfish antenna sticking out of his gullet, there'd be a mean snake's head. Or worse, the bass throws up the snake in the boat.

That is why I throw a Johnson Silver minnow with a trick worm trailer in ponds, looks like a small snake swimming across the top! caught lots of fish doing that!
See you on the lake and have a great day!

Up north, I saw a Musky once pick off a baby duck. Mom and five ducklings started crossing a cove then "WHOOSH" there were only four and Momma duck is pitching a fit! I'm sure it was a Musky as I had raised it a few casts before.
Also saw (also up north in the winter) an eagle fly down on the ice and snatch a small Northern Pike a friend had just caught, un-hooked thrown on the ice while he went to check another tip-up.
On Fork I saw a guy fishing in front of me by several boat lengths un-hook a small slot fish and threw it back. It was gut hooked and dying on the surface. An Osprey that was in a tree somewhere behind me swooped in, grabbed the fish, flew into the top of a tree near me and started eating it while the fish was still gulping for air.

Every time I see a snake swimming, I think to myself how cool it would be to see a bass bust on it. Never seen it, but I hope to someday. Very cool you got to see that.

Years ago in Cuba saw a duckling bigger than your fist disappear about 20 feet from the boat. What we saw of the fish would put it in the DD class. Like flushing a toilet.

Years ago in Maynor Creek Water park, a small lake in Waynesboro, Mississippi i witnessed a huge bass blow up and take down a red wing black bird in a lilly pad field. Still tell that story to my boys when we fishing pads sometimes. At that time that little lake was kicking out a bunch of 10+ pound bass.

I believe it. You see all kinds of stuff out in the wild. I've had an owl grab my topwater out of the air before it hit the water, fly in a big circle (I had basically caught him) then let it go only to come back and grab it again on the next cast. Crazy stuff.

I saw the EXACT same thing at Hubbard Creek this weekend. Watched a 2-3 ft snake crawl into the water and watched it for a second...then as soon as I turned around I hear a huge explosion and see a huge bass with the snake it her mouth. Probably one of the coolest things I've ever seen on the water.

My father and I on Lake Falcon saw a hawk chasing a small duck. When the duck landed we trolling motored over to the duckling to protect it but ended up spooking it from his hiding place and the hawk came down and picked him off. When trying to help goes wrong...
