I have a set of old tennis shoes I use for rivers, for the salt I use wader boots for inshore or my scuba fin booties if going btb.

Usually a pair of Keen sandals. Used to have a pair of Croc Bites I wore all the time but don't think they make them anymore.

I am still wearing the same pair of Columbia Drain Makers that I bought 4 years ago. They have held up very well.

Old tennis shoes

I have a pair of drainmakers that I've worn 4-5 times and the smell is unbearable. What do you do to keep the stench out of a constantly wet shoe? I've gone back to the Keens for now but really like the idea of having more of a shoe like the drainmaker.

Take the insoles out and wash the shoe and insole in the sink with dishwashing soap. Let them air dry on the patio. If the smell remains, rinse them again, shake the excess water off and freeze them overnight in a plastic grocery store bag. Pull them out in the morning and let them thaw on the patio table and the air dry.

To keep the smell from returning after using at the Lake, I hose them off outside and let them air dry on the patio table.

I take the insoles out and rinse them and the inside of the shoes out with a water hose, mostly to remove any sand or mud. Dry them in the sun. No problemos.

I like my Zeko shoes. Drain holes, quick dry mesh, machine washable so after a few trips you can was them and they're like new. Sockless as well

This is the reason I stopped wearing my Salomon Techamphibian and Vibram KSO's. I couldn't stand the smell, after 6 hours of kayaking in them, I would have to hang them off the back of the kayak on the trip home because they would smell so bad.

I would run the KSO's through the washing machine and dryer to get the stink out, then next trip, rinse and repeat.

I've used a pair of Sperry Son-Rs for several years. They have held up very well and don't stink.

I have tried the 9.99 slip on pool shoes, Teva rubber tennis shoes, and slip-on Crocs. Like the Crocs the best. They drain better, if wadding or walking in sand, (they all get sand in them), Crocs are easy on off for cleaning, they don't smell, and they dry quick. Wear them to yak everywhere in between. If they slip off, they float...

crocs drain well; been wearing them for several years with no issues except for the fact that stepping out in mud that will pull them off your feet-p-

Crocs are good and all, but I like something secure on my feet so I don't have to worry about slipping. I love my crocs for my bass boat, but a yak? Give me something that velcros, pulls tight, or ties.
