Well I got into the stripped bass on my fly rod this morning and I am now the u-official state record holder for catch & release stripped bass on a fly rod! Fish was 24" and 7.14lbs BUT due to the fact that I was fishing by myself this morning and there was no one there to witness my catch TPWD will not certify my catch! The net in the photo is 20" long and the fish was 4" longer than the net!

Are you talking a water body record? 24 that's a nice fish but def not a state record. I've personally c&r a 32" striper on a fly and it was not a state record! Nice fish though. Stripers are always fun to catch and the one I target most on the fly. I got into them this afternoon for the first time in a while. I'll be back for more Monday morning!

State fly rod record striper was 43" long and weighed 36.65 lbs, caught on the Guadalupe River by John Erskine, a fellow Trout Unlimited buddy of mine. He was fishing one of the TU leases on the Guad.

Yes guys this was new water body record for the Nolan River, had I been fishing with a partner that day I would have set the C&S mark for Striper, Hybrid, White bass, Black bass, Drum & Perch....

It still wouldn't be a water body c&r record. The rules for c&r records stipulate the fish must meet the minimum lengths specified for big fish awards. It is explained on the 2nd page of the form. For striper it has to be at least 35".
