Been using Everstart MAXX on my TM for about 17 years.....they just flat out work. For my cranking battery, I use the batteries from Academy since they have 1000 CCA's Which battery has 1000 CCA's?

Yes. I buy them. 24 month replacement and there is a Walmart nearly everywhere you go. I have only had one go bad and they replaced it.

Most Walmarts I've been to in the area are closing out their Marine batteries. They told me they were not going to be stocking them anymore. But that is from a walmart specialist! May just be the stores in my area. I checked at 3.

Only problem I have had is getting a replacement after automotive section is closed. The two stores in Carrollton wont touch them until that dept. is open.

When ya'll say that you had "one go bad". How do you differentiate a bad one from a bank of two or three? Can deep cycle batteries be load tested like regular cranking batteries? Or do you just leave them on a charger then measure the amps? Not meaning to steal this post but my Optima's that came with the boat are have been feeling weak the last couple trips out. Slower, running it on higher than normal setting and noticeably weaker after less than a full day. Just replace them all? 4 years old. Thank you, 361v.

I had one go bad, it would not fully charge, I could feel it in my trolling motor it was weaker than normal so charged each one separately and found the one that would not charge all the way, it was 6 months old so I took it back, they charged it and did a load test and it was bad , they gave me a new one with no problems.
The next time I'm at harbor freight I'm going to pick up a load tester, something we all should have.
If it was easy, everyone would do it

Bought 3 29's in Dec. 13 for the 36V Minn Kota 101. That was 200 hours ago on boat motor, so roughly 200-250+ trips. They are just now starting to get a little weak. From past experience with these batteries, I know I still have about 40-50 trips before they no longer meet my standards. This is my 3rd set of 29's, never an issue with them. Anytime I can get 3 years out of $100 batteries, it's good for me.
Everything on your bass boat is broken......You just don't know it yet.

What I will do is I make sure the batteries are fully charged with my onboard charger. I do a hydrometer and voltage check. Sometimes they come back fine but if I still feel like I'm not getting good performance I'll charge fully again and take them out, run them over to the Interstate Battery location by me and have them do a load test. That's where you'll find out if one or more is going bad. I got 3 years out of my Interstate batteries. I only run a 24 volt system.
