People don't 'own' fish or specific spots on a public lake. Anyone who fishes has the right to learn how to pattern fish. Guides are taking a gamble being guides. I thought about guiding for many years. I choose to educate as many people that want to learn about the sport so that we will have more people involved in it. With that comes more interest for money to be donated for fish stockings to help keep and promote the sport. There is no 'legal' property owned on a lake unless it's private. I'm all for conservation of only take as much as you will eat, but this telling people that they can't pull up next to a guide has got to go. I would NEVER go fishing with a guide that told me to get lost or that I deemed halfway rude. If they did I would tell the truth on how I was treated to all that I knew. That's not good for business. Promote and Educate! I can't ride that 'High Horse' either. Intellectual Property is one thing...Public fishing property is another but if we don't start 'educating' more on the sport we will not have the proper backing that we need. We will be stuck with a bunch of 'over-protective 'old codures' that forgot how to share and enjoy the sport.

Streetwalker has the right attitude. We need people helping and promoting! Sharing is what we should excel at in this sport.

I agree with Street walker as well. Didn't intend to high horse. Guess I was at a low point of the day a felt like griping. But still chasing a guide all day and then fishing 15 feet away is poor behavior no matter how you cut it. Good luck on the water.

If any of you know any guides... on any lakes... they generally have the same problem of crowding, running your big engine into the schools, cutting them off on a drift with clients etc. I've had guides tell me that Potlickers just wait for them to take off each morning and then follow them. While that's perfectly legal, it is just wrong on so many levels. It's easy to understate (Legal to be anywhere on public waters) and overstate (Stay completely away from a guide). Just be a man, use common sense and be respectful and courteous. They will too!! And... I also agree with Street Walker!! lol With a handle like that, he can't be wrong. Try mid-lake wind swept points... and all the rest.

Well, I'm done. Wifey went with me and started having hunger pains around noon, she informed me that the apple and peanuts I packed were not enough. So we loaded up and headed to eat some BBQ. We caught a half limit of whites and a couple small hybrids.
You can kill a fly with a sledgehammer, But do you really need to son???

Stohner, it was good to meet you at the boat ramp at Tawakoni today. We caught a bunch of Sandies and some under Hybrids and Stripers. I like your boat!! Congratulations on your new ride.

Can't go wrong with the bridge if you don't know where to start. They may be more scattered, but you can bet to catch all species under it. For the white bass, hybrid, stripers, I've had good luck launching out of Cedar Cove near the damn and concentrating on the humps and creek channel where it empties into the main lake. If you do not have good electronics, you can troll, just be courteous and avoid trolling near the hoards of copy-cats following the guides.
