Getting ready to go to PK for my first time. Was curious if there were many smallmouth bass being caught on the lake or just largemouth. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Just largemouth. Find some clearish water and fish shallow

Appreciate the information 9094. Have heard PK can be a good topwater lake as well?

Don't forget the stripers. PK has a good population of them.

Just don't tell the wife you're going to PK looking for stripers... But yeah, look for the laydowns with the windows all boarded up and you'll find a few

No Smallmouth, or Spots on Pk since the fish kills. All Largemouth, F2's.

Don't forget the stripers. PK has a good population of them. +1 on this one. They were mugging my Citrus Shad crank baits, should be 4 or 5 of my crank baits floating by now. Broke two rods in the Media Tournament compliments of the Striper population. Managed to get one in close enough to see and it was a big one. Even had one hit a Black worm.

Was out there last Saturday. The bite was tough. Go south the water is clearer. Fish the backs of the sloughs, make long casts. Used a Zoom watermelon Gold Baby Brush Hog, caught 11 fish, biggest was 3#s. A lot of small fish.
