I fished for two hours around the gun range this morning and caught three on roadrunners. That's about normal for me. Everyone else was upstream. Water was fast, clear enough, and still a bit high. This new bridge being built will probably wipe out two beautiful holes at the gun range.

Nick and I both had a single today, and we ended meeting up and let me say they were hungry today. For those of you thinking the run is over, let me tell you, it's in full swing right now. We pulled off the first limit in 37 minutes. The last limit was just over an hour and caught well over 250 fish total. Fish were hitting anything we threw at them. You could have put a Coke tab on a hook and would have caught a few fish. Started off with spinners, then got bored and switched to cranks. 1/8th rattle traps and X-raps. Got tired of treble hooks, and switched to curly tails on 1/16 oz jigheads white, black, chartreuse. Got bored of that and switch to jig and bobber with flukes. Albino, chartreuse, smoking shad. Got tired of bobbers and switched to finessing flukes. And I could go on and on... They bit EVERYTHING today. Everything was perfect today. Fish were in every hole we stopped in. Getcha some while the fishing is hot!

Can anyone PM directions or an address to Rowlett Creek that I can Google Map? I'd like to go today. It is my first time fishing for white bass!

Daniel,
If you're coming from Desoto, you're better off finding a creek closer to you to fish the run. Some of these posts talk as if RC is all mighty for the run, but they're catching at other creeks and claiming it as RC. Without knowing RC, you'll be wandering for hours trying to find a good hole since it is quite big and long (that's what she said).

Lol you got me! No. These fish were definitely from yesterday. Work your way upstream. They're still there and the lure bite is great.

Three days ago I was there. 3 long distance released hybrids, 2 man limit. And more 8 to 11 inch fish that you can shake a stick at. The run is at its peak. You might've just been fishing on an off day or time, or maybe even the wrong place? And I will tell you we are way way the heck upstream of Miller and 66. There are definitely still thousands of fish in the creek right now. There are definitely still thousands of fish in Rowlett Creek. The 3 inch Mr. twister white Grubbs have been the bomb this year. Chartreuse also has been getting 25% of them. When it slows down we just switch colors and they usually start to bite again. Some days you got a power fish pockets. Catch four five in each pocket then move. And, I suggest after you walk upstream and you have 15 fish or so, I would turn around and fish your way back so you don't have to carry 40 pounds of Sandy's on the stringer all the way back.
With all the rain coming I don't know if we'll be able to fish anymore this season. Hopefully the weather man is wrong. Tomorrow is probably the last day this week you might be able to hit the creek with Clearwater.
