Took the kids fishing Saturday...10 years old and twin 6 year olds. Between the tangles, the fights over the donuts, that's my drink- no that one is mine, its my turn in the front of the boat, we managed to find 13 keepers. I never tried to fish, just kept them in tackle. Left them biting, and could've easily made a limit. All in all, no foul hooks, no trips to the ER, and had lots of smiles.

Lake is up 3.86 now. What will the crappie do? Do they stay on their existing beds? Fish 4 ft deeper or will they move up, or maybe disappear?

Tough to say. Most of the fish we caught were males making beds for mama, and the females we did catch weren't even close to laying eggs. I think I'll go back and try them Friday, probably see if they've moved up, if not, I'll back off and see if I can find them in 4' deeper water. I doubt they disappear, those girls will have to have a place to lay eggs in a couple weeks. those males better be busy making a place for them to drop. I'm no expert though, any of you guys have a different opinion? Educate me.
