I am new to the area, the only place I know to fish from the shore and have luck is the I-35 bridge over LAke Lewisville. Are there any other spots on LAvon/ Hubbard/CC/RR where you can fish from the bank and have success?

Any help would be great, I am dieing to go get some crappie!

Welcome aboard James007.

I don't fish those lakes from the bank, but I have fished Lewisville from the fishing barge. There are times when that is a pretty good spot.

Welcome to the area. Ray Roberts has several places that are good from bank. most are not good at this time but it want be long before they start doing well. fishing along the bridges on 3002 and 922 can be very productive, night time fishing will be your best action. If you need more info just send me an email and I will be happy to help.

Welcome James007. I've just launched a website for people just like you who want to know where to go to fish. I've marked some spots for RR & Benbrook lakes. I'm still working on some others, and hopefully other fishermen will decide to help out too.

Click Ray Roberts and here for Benbrook. Click the icons for the info. With one kid in college and two in private school going to college next year I can't afford a boat and am land locked for now, but hopefully in the near future that'll change and I'll be out marking a bunch more spots. Good luck and know that in north TX you have a ton of places to go fishing.

the 380 bridge at lavon (if it has water)

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

Thank you Grub Worm for the compliment. For the lakes I research and send out request to the different states or if a state has the info online I use that. The places that I've marked I fished or at least tried to catch some fish there. I grew up fishing Benbrook and still live there so I call Benbrook my home lake, but I've also fished Joe Pool and Ray Roberts. The other places like boat ramps or marinas comes from looking at the lake or info from the state, or I drive around a lake and mark 'em. Like you, I'm land locked now, but hopefully this spring or summer I can get a water ride and then really mark up some spots. Lewisville & Grapevine are on my to do list.

BTW, join up and mark some spots yourself. It doesn't have to be your honey-holes. Heck I'd just like to know where all the available bait shops around a lake is located. To me that kind of information saves me time and money.

Welcome from Texoma Country.
I lived on Lake Lewisville for apporoximately 20 years so heres what I know:
The Navo Creek off 380 (east of Denton) will be hopping here real soon. Little Elm Park near the boat ramp is really good. The Lewisville Barge is okay. If they are not biting you can enjoy the fellowship.
