SLIP cork. End of discussion. This about the only type i use. With the peg you can make it a fixed, or run the line through the peg, and bobber stops, and you can make it a true slip cork with the bobber stop setting the depth. These are some of the results: Cheers, Rudy

If you're fishn shalla 9'or less you'll detect more bites with a fixed cork, plus you'll have the option to remove the cork without having to cut your line & you don't have to worry bout any bobber stoppers....what a headache.....LOL

All above mentioned methods of using bobbers are old school. We use a new method to fit majority of the fishing conditions and situation.

I can't remember the last time I used a fixed float. I use slip corks 100% of the time.
Me too, but I'm always open to new ideas

I do not use corks enough to know the best ways. But been out today using a fix cork fishing under places that the water is still to high for the shooters to get under. Just let the wind take it to the fish, but did miss a good many as could not see the cork while it was doing its thing.

Yes, you do it right. When the water is too high, there is very little room to cast or shoot into the bridge pilings, the only way to get the spot is to use the wind and current to carry the float there. . Slip float is not going to work in this condition. I do not use corks enough to know the best ways. Fixed. Hate being hung up and lose your whole rig on a slip cork setup.
I have a better chance on getting my bobber back on a fixed rig.

Most of the time when you break off its at or just above the hook. Put another bobberstop about 6-8 inches above your hook and it saves a lot of tackle.

During spring spawn, I often use fixed since the water is so shallow and also allow me to switch to different type of bobber much faster. During winter time when fish is deep, slip is the only way to go. Just from my experience.
