What braid do you like best for throwing frogs and what rod do you like best?

I like Sufix 832 and the new PP super slick equally 65#
I use my old Loomis 854 IMX. 7 footer

65 lb power pro slick and a Zillion 7'6" heavy rod.
I know, I know.....not an XBD. I don't use a frog enough to justify having it. The Zillion is a "good enough" rod for the technique and is my flipping rod mostly.

I have been using a 7-6 rod also but it seems most prefer a shorter rod. Just thought I would see what others were using.

I use a 7'11 older kistler heavy with PP 65lb....backed with a fishing 13 8:1

I like Sufix 832 and the new PP super slick equally 65#
I use my old Loomis 854 IMX. 7 footer
I'm with Ken on the line. I use a Dobyns Savvy 736. I too like the relatively shorter rods as I hold the rod tip down while walking the frog. Ken and I are over 6' and I think the 7'-7'3" are just right for that height of a person in my opinion. The longer rods may help if you're fishing places where a longer cast is needed and they help to take up line on the hook set but for me the extra length just makes it harder to work the frog. If you're short like Ronnie Kelly you may have to go with a 5'6" rod.

7'2 Heavy action Shimano/Jackall Poison Adrena with a 7.6:1 Chronarch Ci4 and 65 pound Power Pro. I have tried a bunch of different setups over the years and this is by far my favorite to date. Plenty of tip to work the bait and enough backbone to pull the big ones out of ANYTHING. For me, it has been the perfect balance for accuracy and distance, and I've been fortunate to have a chance to battle a few decent bass in some thick stuff.

I have had no problems getting big fish out of the junk with a 735 on Palestine. Plus the 735 is more versatile for me outside of "frog season."

90 percent of the time I'm using my 6 10 Bucoo heavy fast with 50 lb 832.... I feel like the shorter rod makes it much easier to slowly twitch and walk the bait, allows for more pinpoint casting accuracy and the ability to skip under stuff. Sometimes though the best thing is to just chug the bait in the pads. For that I'll use my 7 3 xheavy broomstick with 65lb 832. Caught my first frog fish of the year Saturday.... it was a pretty good one. My favorite bite!
