Was at Joe pool lake today, bite was slow in the creeks this morning. A guy right next to me was fishing and said the spawn should be just about over now. What do you guys think "Still On" or "Shutting Down"?

It's still early. Seeton has been producing a bit but there are a ton of people there. There has been 20-25 cars there everyday.
I went to another location on JP today and every female I caught was full of bright yellow eggs. There is still a little while before they start to turn white and lay.

What size are the females? I have repeatedly been told that JP is home of the 9 in crappie...

There are good crappie in Joe Pool but you have to pay your dues. I have caught several nice 14-15 inch fish out of there in the past. It's just like any lake, a lot of dinks but it has some nice ones if you know where to look.

Something else to watch for while walking the banks at seeton. Didn't see this guy until after about 10 minutes of fishing some brush!
