I saw a water moccasin yesterday at the log jam lying next to the catfish remains while fishing with Redman and Kingfisher. Apparently, someone filleted their catfish there and left the remains where they were standing. That's probably what attracted the snake there. I didn't feel comfortable fishing next to the snake.
Wind from the north, fisherman does not go forth. Wind from the south, blows the bait in the fish's mouth. Wind from the east, the fish bite least. Wind from the west, the fish bite best.. __________________________________

That brush pile is infested with snakes. I think they are water moccasins. Saw 5 snakes in that brush. Hairs stood on my back! Was bank fishing on the opposite side and another snake was gnawing on my sand bass I caught. I had that happen to some catfish I had on a stringer once. The snake got to keep my haul that day. I had one biting on my boot on the bank. Lucky it was small one, maybe 2-3 ft long

I was wondering if anyone knows if it's legal to fillet fish where you caught.

Thank you MrNovice. I thought so too. Saw the remains of the fillet catfish on the ground makes me wonder if it's legal or not.

king fisher and reedman fishing at rc today .they did good job.and the other four forum people we all did very well. Had a lot of fun fishing with Kung Fu Jimmy, Zombie and Kingfisher. We were into them pretty good but couldn't find enough shad. That's all they wanted. Thanks for posting the picture KFJ and can't wait to fish with you all again real soon.
A bad day of fishing beats a good day at work anyday!!!

I caught my limit behind the Gun range area today using live shad. The shad stayed along the bank in less than 1ft of water from 7-9 AM then they moved out into deeper water. The three of us caught our limits of sandbass by 10:30 AM.

Seems like live bait is the winner lately at the creek!

The day after a good rain about 2 weeks ago, I saw gar and carp schooling up the creek as well. They were the only thing breaking the water that morning. That was when I caught that 1 sandy on a floating rapala at about noon, using the current to pull it downstream but still keep it suspended in the water. Water was super cloudy that day, like coffee with a little creme in it. But, just be aware that they are there too and they were HUGE!

Looks like netting shad might be the ticket.
