I am going to break down and buy a pair of quality fishing glasses. Leaning towards Costa, but I am not sure what lens color would be best for everyday bass fishing in East Texas. Based on your experiences, what would be the best colored lens if I am only going to buy one pair? Thank you in advance for your help!

Green mirror over copper or Silver mirror over copper.

If you're going to have one pair, copper or brown has been the most versatile for me.

Definitely green mirror/copper for typical Texas lakes. I fished with only that model Costa for years, didn't see a lot of need for anything else. Some will make a big deal about the weight of the glass lenses, but my opthamologist is a firm believer in the 580G for its optical quality. The 580G is thinner than prior glass lenses, and I don't really have any issue with weight. The plastic scratches a LOT easier and is cheaper for a reason...

the chart is pretty accurate. I have a set of blue lenses I use for offshore. I have prescription Maui Jims in copper for everything else. Suggestion if you choose Costa's...try on several different pairs as the types vary as to how they fit you...example, the blackfin may fit you well, but not necessarily the Fisch.

The best all around lens if you ask me, is amber or copper. I definitely wear amber more often than not. I suggest you try on each pair because each person's eyes are different.

Amber is no longer offered in most of Costas lenses. I used to use amber but have switched to green mirror copper. I have not tried the new glass lenses but the old glass was to heavy for me. I prefer the plastic lenses and have not had a problem with scratching.

I have Amber, which would be most comparable to copper on that chart. I love them (500g). For blue bird days, I would prefer to have one of the other shades but I have some other cheap polarized lenses that are darker for those days if it bothers me. I'm planning on buying a pair of blue or green this summer for that reason, but the amber lenses are great, even on blue bird days.

I would go with either Silver mirror or Green mirror. I would say the Silver mirror is the best all around lens out there. I have both. Green is great for bright sunny days but is a littler dark for my liking when it is low light conditions. I find myself wearing the silver mirror most of the time. But like I said when the sun comes out I'll put on those green mirror. But for sure get one of the mirrors and not just the standard lens.

Silver mirror without a doubt if you are only going to have one pair.
