Well fishing five days a week and still working 50 hours I didn't do anything today lol. Well ok day not over yet may get going here in a bit and find water. Fishing has still been good and a lot of fun with gin clear water and seeing every fish attack these are from Sunday and Monday my buddy kept a few bigger ones for a fish fry. Been a great year so far with as many places to find them this year crowds have been light.

Clouser is what I throw almost exclusively Ron chartreuse and white. We have actually caught a few fish on olive wooly buggers this year as well as sandy candys. Sunday a craw fish pattern would have done really well. I was catching fish almost every cast for a good bit of the day. But the cast would take 30 seconds. You had to really keep a close Eye on the fly when it hit the water as the current would take it down at about a 45 angle to the bottom. Once on the bottom I would just drag it about an inch never even getting it up off the bottom of the river after four or five moves you would see one fish in particular get really excited and start swimming up to it nipping at it at that point you could give it about two strips real quick up off the bottom and they ate almost every time. Had two heavy split shot on to keep from drifting down. We just picked threw a few of the bigger ones when we kept those didn't need to many for the people he was having over. And a couple of limits would have required a horse to get them out and not kill you as far as we were from the truck. For sandbass any thing bigger than sz 6 is way to big the smaller and sparser the better it seams.

Don't want to speak for Robert, but it hasn't really mattered, been more about the finding what technique they want. Once you figure that it's on! Thats been my experience.

if you notice that thing is still tied on. I used that fly for another two days looking like that and all it was was the dumbbell eyes and a little tough but hair around it and they still ate every cast. I kept thinking I needed to change it out but they kept eating it so I left it on after two more days I cut it off to put in my retired fly box of flys that have been just chewed to shreds over the years. It's now on display in my man cave. It is still beyond me how they find something that small.

They have been absolutely hammering the Murdich minnow I tie. Jesse10 has named it the Crazy eyed streamer lol. Monday was every cast on that fly. Crystal clear water and bright blue skies made them want the fly moving slowly like a dieing shad . The minnow basically suspends 3-4 inches under the water and is extremely light weight so it does not spook them in clear water. You could just float it over the school and watch anywhere from 5- 10 come up out of the school and fight over it. It was an absolute blast. Some of my absolute favorite fishing!

68 it's been a fun year for sure. That water clarity has been nuts watching every fishes reaction. They were so on fire last Thursday we put on poppers and caught them on the surface! Great looking fly.

yea it has been great! It is fun to throw that fly out their dry. It will float for a little while until it gets wet. They love to come take it off the surface before I have ever moved it and it starts to sink.

Looks kinda like a zonker without the tail. I've been using a woolly worm the krystal flash for the tail and chain bead eyes. Body has white mylar chiniel (sp) and it's working pretty good when I get the time to go. Hopefully next week I'll have some free time and meet up with some of you out there.
