Update. Max had the breathing machine removed today. PTL and the Dr. is very satisfied with his progress so far. We are so blessed to even be to this point. My wife and I would like to thank all of y'all for the prayers. We can't even begin to tell you how much they mean. God bless and #maxwins

Update April 6:
Max did great last night. He had no trouble continuing to breathe on his own and maintaining excellent O2 and blood gas levels; so much so that the doctors felt comfortable enough to discontinue regular testing.
He has been taken off of all intravenous sedation and pain medication and only receiving at an as needed pace. Because of this he has come up to the surface quite a bit.
I read him a book today and would ask him to locate particular portions of the story in pictures, his eyes would travel to the appropriate portion of the page.
He reached for his blanket and he recognizes people.
He has not attempted to talk but has cried some.
He is currently fighting a bit of an upper respiratory bug and is spiking a fever off and on but his lungs are clear and we are steering clear of pneumonia thus far.
What to pray for:
The respiratory infection be cleared up;
That he remain calm as he adjusts to this current situation;
That his speech is normal;
That the leaking and previous swelling in the brain be gone completely by the next CT scan.

I've got three boys one is Max's age. Can't fathom what his parents are going through. Donation made and prayers for sure.
