Had a few people PM me about it so figured I would just post here.
Yesterday was excellent as far as conditions go to be outside. Breeze was at about 5 or under all day.
Water was the muddiest that ive ever seen on the lake ever since I have fished it.
Started out the morning in a known spawning cove and as I dropped the trolling motor and started rigging up, I was hearing and seeing fish bust the surface, saw shad EVERYWHERE and picked up a different rod with a Bone yellow magic and it was on. Caught fish left and right, had 10 boated within the first 30 minutes. Then it died, water was too muddy to sight fish in most coves, the coves where there was good visibility was covered up in carp and gar. Didnt have another bite for 3 hours fishing stuff I normally do with no luck. Finally decided to just cover shoreline and gave my trolling motor a work out. Finally started getting on a decent pattern and was able to land 8 more before I left for the day around 1:30. Well not really a pattern but I would just make 2-3 flips to where a bed should be but in 2-3 ft of water. Didnt get a lot of bites along the retaining walls. Most bites were close to the dam and all were on a weightless black with blue flake yamasenko.
Most fish were big fat spots, looked like they were full of eggs. Caught a few largemouth with one going about 3.5 lbs. Probably had about a 15lb sack. Ready for the water to clear back and and for the summer pattern out there!
Was also my first time using actual yamamoto senkos for a good bit, went through a whole bag lol, I feel like the fish held on to the bait longer than if I were using similar stick baits from big bite, YUM, etc. but most were one fish per bait. I would get short striked and shred the bait up pretty good, and then when the fish took it, it was unusable from there.

I have not had much luck at the retaining walls yet. If the water clears up some that will improve. The area around the dam(boat ramps near the dam) have always been good if you stay off of them and make your cast. This usually works really well with a boat dock or two near by.
