In bass tournaments are you limited to only largemouth or can you take spotted bass and small mouths into weigh in? May seem like the dumbest question you've ever read but hey I never claimed to be the smartest.

most all tournaments allow all black bass species (around here, LMB, kentuckys, smallies, and guadalupe) to be weighed in. some allow for differences in species/size according to state regs (i.e. no minimum on spots) but most state a uniform minimum regardless of species to avoid species identification debates at weigh in.

but the length will change in each species. State will have a different regulation on each.

No such thing as a dumb question. Most tournaments state pretty clearly in their rules what Bass are allowed to be weighed and what length. If you are thinking of fishing a tournament just read their rules carefully. and Good luck

Thanks for that, Thad! Could have sworn it was 12 inches on spots.

Fouzman,
It seems they change them on us about every 1,2 or 3 years or so. I thought it was 12", too, but when I looked it was not. Of course, fishing Alan Henry, there is not limit on LMB or Spots, for 2 fish. If you keep 3 one has to be 18" long. Of course, this last weekend, it sounded lie they caught 5 overs, which is a rarity, except for this time f year. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.
