Have not been on Lewisville in 4-5 years probably so I decided to hit it for a few hours this afternoon. Got on the water around 3:30 and fished about 3hrs. Had 7-8 bites all on Texas rigged soft plastics near laydowns etc. Could not get a moving bait bite at all but I tried. Also could not get bit in the bushes. Launched at Arrowhead and stayed in that general area. Water is stained to uddy and temps were 62-70 depending how far back in the pockets you went. All fish came in less than 2' of water. Had one that I thought was gonna be a toad as soon as I set the hook and saw its mouth come out of the water. Put a picture up of it. Literally had a 7lb head but was maybe 4-4 1/2. It was fat and had not spawned yet. Had another one a bit bigger that wrapped me in a bush near a lydown and shook off before I could get to her.
Best bite of the day was a 2lber. Hardest fighting fish I have had on all year. If it had come off without me seeing it I would have sworn it was a big fish.

They are chomping out there. Same for me mostly flipping.

The fish are fighting hard on Lew right now. I hooked a 4 pounder Friday evening that I thought was gonna be 7+. The bite is on out there, but you gotta put your bait in some nasty stuff to get bit.

Got 1 dink on Lew yesterday from 11-4. Fished all over the place. Used all kinds of lures. IDK. Was doing well the last two weeks.

Launched at Stewarts creek. Fished the old harbor on the E side of the main lake, hidden cove area, the two coves on the north bank near hidden cove. Old dam, then back to stewarts creek.

Fished buck brush with jigs, all kinds of shore with shakyheads, tx rig, senko, wacky, craw, even a swimbait and nothing.

Caught 12 on Lewisville. Biggest being 5.15 and had three over 3lbs. One of the best days I've ever had out there.

3'hours yesterday am got 5 with the biggest going 3-3.5# all on brush hog all in 5' o less of water. Water was 62-64 from 7-10

Apparently they were biting real good yesterday so I heard from work!

Yeah you're probably right. Can't catch jack when I go out with anyone else.
